Creative Case Studies

Every winning ad follows a structure. Below is the framework I use to analyze and build performance creatives — followed by three real-world examples for mobile card games.

01
Hook Idea
The first 2–3 seconds. What stops the scroll? Could be a question, a visual surprise, or a relatable situation.
02
Why It Works
The psychology behind the hook — curiosity, emotion, social proof, or pattern interrupts that keep viewers watching.
03
Gameplay Structure
How the ad flows after the hook: gameplay highlights, quick wins, satisfying moments, and pacing decisions.
04
End Card
The final frame that converts — clean branding, a clear CTA, and urgency or incentive to install.
05
Expected Metrics
Predicted performance based on creative patterns: CTR (attention), CVR (conversion), ROAS (profitability).
Example Concepts — Card Game Ads
01
Spades Interview Hook
Older couple interviewed about their favorite pastime
Hook Interviewer asks seniors what game they play together — relaxed, unscripted feel.
Why It Works Authenticity and nostalgia. The audience sees themselves. UGC-style builds trust fast.
Gameplay Interview clip → smooth transition to in-game Spades hand → quick win animation → card dealing sounds.
End Card Clean game logo on dark background, "Play Now — Free" CTA button, app store badges.
Expected High CTR — curiosity + relatable characters. Moderate CVR — strong with 45+ age demo.
02
Solitaire ASMR Hands
Close-up hands dealing cards with satisfying sound design
Hook Tight shot of hands shuffling real cards — crisp ASMR sounds, no voice, no text for 2 seconds.
Why It Works Sensory pattern interrupt. Silent scroll-stoppers outperform loud hooks in card game demos for casual players.
Gameplay Real card shuffle → match cut into digital solitaire board → auto-complete cascade → win streak counter.
End Card Split screen: real cards left, app right. "Your deck is waiting" + download CTA.
Expected Strong CTR from visual hook. High CVR — the real-to-digital transition shows the product immediately.
03
Spades "Who's Smarter?" Challenge
Split-screen gameplay: two players, only one makes the right call
Hook Text overlay: "Only 2% get this right." Split screen shows two hands — one plays smart, one doesn't.
Why It Works Competitive framing + IQ challenge bait. Viewers mentally pick a side, which boosts watch time and engagement.
Gameplay Parallel gameplay → wrong move highlighted in red → correct play rewarded with points animation → replay tease.
End Card "Think you can do better?" + animated CTA button + 4.8★ rating badge.
Expected Very high CTR — challenge hooks drive clicks. Good CVR with competitive gamers, especially in the 25–44 range.
AI Creative Analysis Tool

I built a small internal tool that uses AI to analyze top-performing creatives and generate new iteration ideas based on winning patterns. It's not a product — it's a workflow advantage.

Pattern Recognition
Identifies what hooks, structures, and CTAs consistently win across ad sets and networks.
Hook Generation
Takes a winning concept and produces new hook angles ready for scripting and testing.
Faster Iteration Cycles
Reduces time between creative analysis and new variant production, helping UA teams scale testing faster.
Data-Informed Decisions
No guesswork. Every new concept is grounded in what's already working in the market.
